BBC Three commissions new primetime series World's Toughest Jobs

BBC Three have announced a new six part prime time series - World's Toughest Jobs. Each episode will follow the journey of three hard-up young  Brits as they leave the UK in a bid to find their pot of gold and take on one of the world’s toughest jobs.

From fishing the treacherous Norwegian coastline to working a hundred feet up as a lumberjack’s assistant in Canada, their goal is the same, to earn some hard cash... if they manage to stand the pace that is.

BBC Three controller Zai Bennett comments, "It's never been harder to get a job in the UK. In each episode of BBC Three's new format, World's Toughest Jobs, we're sending three members of our audience to the ends of the world to do some of the hardest graft going where they can earn proper money and potentially turn their lives around. The show perfectly complements BBC Three's existing stable of factual programming with real purpose."

Managing Director of Boundless, Patrick Holland, says of the commission, “If you are under 30, it's never been harder to get a start in life. Debt, poorly paid jobs and high rents mean it's never been tougher to gain independence. Each week, World's Toughest Jobs will give three young adults a chance to show they are not work-shy and earn some serious money working in some pretty tough work places. These are real jobs and the young people will be spending a month in their respective roles. We are tremendously excited to be making such an ambitious and entertaining series that engages with a very real issue for young people today.”

World's Toughest Jobs is currently in production.
