BBC commissions full series of Still Open All Hours

BBC One have commissioned a brand new series of Still Open All Hours. The six thirty minute episodes will follow on from the incredibly successful Boxing Day special.

David Jason, who stars as shop-owner Granville said, “I am so delighted that we are doing a series of Still Open All Hours as the feedback from our Christmas Special has been so rewarding and encouraging. We want to have more fun giving the audience the kind of show they seemed to appreciate. It goes to prove that the corner shop is still open all hours.”

The programme's creator and writer Roy Clarke added, "I'm delighted. It's like going back home."

The Boxing Day special of Still Open All Hours was one of the festive period's highest rate programmes and was watched by an average of 9.4 million viewers on the day.

The new series will be filmed in Doncaster and broadcast later in the year.
