E4 announces cast for new drama Glue

E4 has announced the cast for its new eight-part drama Glue which is created and written by BAFTA winner Jack Thorne, best known for his work on Skins and The Fades.

The drama which feature on the farming village of Overton where race-horses make up the town's bread and butter. But beyond the rolling hills and behind the stable doors lies a green and not-so-pleasant land...

The bored kids of Overton spend their days playing chicken on silo machines and risk their lives by jumping over grain barns. But, when the body of a local teenage boy is found underneath the wheels of a tractor, the villagers in this remote community are forced to open up their world and watch their secrets spill out. Secrets that will change their particular brand of country life forever.

Glue has assembled a brilliant cast of young up-and-comers including Submarine star Yasmin Page and Jordan Stephens of Rizzle Kicks fame. Joining them are Callum Turner from ITV's Leaving, Line of Duty's Charlotte Spencer, Fresh Meat's Fay Marsay and Jessie Cave best known as Lavender Brown from the Harry Potter films.

Completing the young line-up are stage actors Tommy McDonnell and Billy Howle as well as Tommy Lawrence Knight best known for his roles in Waterloo Road and The Sarah Jane Adventures.

Meanwhile, the older cast members include Kerry Fox, Steve Oram, Kierston Wareing and Steve Oram.

Channel 4's Commissioning Editor Sophie Gardener says, "the line-up reads like a roll-call of some of the brightest up-and-coming talent around. We can’t wait for them to bring our bold new series to life. Brace yourselves for a trip to the countryside…E4-style.”

Glue will air in autumn 2014
