Sherlock: The Game is On!

In January 2014, television producers, Hartswood Films and Digital Agency, The Project Factory launched an app for iOS and iPad for the acclaimed BBC One drama Sherlock, which returned for its third series in 2014.

The big news? It’s now available for Android and will also now be free to download for both iOS and Android as of 6th August!

The app became the number one Entertainment App in the UK App Store on the day of release, going on to become the number one Entertainment App in 37 countries, with an average rating of over 4.5 stars worldwide.

The media praised the app with The Unoffical Apple Weblog commenting "The immersion into Sherlock's world is top-notch, and you'll find yourself awaiting more cases just as eagerly as you'll await series 4." , Radio Times stating "The puzzles are fun... Four hours of fun!" and Digital Spy claiming that "If Sherlock himself designed an app, it would probably look like this!".

Fans praised in equal measure on social media and in the App Store:

"Best App I've ever purchased - absolutely terrific fun! It's like having more of those Sherlock episodes we've been craving!... I'm delighted that the cast and crew were able to spend some time making this an absolutely quality experience!"

The app features exclusive video of Benedict Cumberbatch, Martin Freeman and Mark Gatiss in their roles as Sherlock, John and Mycroft; along with voicemails from them, iconic locations and clues to find.

This app is a real treat for Sherlock fans providing a completely new, interactive digital experience to immerse themselves in. The scripting, approach and case structure reflect the television programme, keeping the mysteries flowing. The question is, will you #JoinTheNetwork?

Coinciding with the launch of the Android version on 6th August, the app will be dropping from its current price point of £1.99 ($2.99 or €2.69) to become free to download, with the first two cases included. This will be for both iOS and Android. Downloading the Android app through the Amazon App Store will provide six free cases included for a limited period of time. (Note: the Amazon App Store can be installed onto any Android phone).
