7.30pm Britain's Wildest Weather Channel 4 - This year Britain has been hit by record-breaking storms, by devastating tornadoes, floods and hurricanes, by the coldest August in over 20 years and by the hottest Halloween ever. Through the shocking personal testimony and staggering eyewitness footage of the people who were there, this documentary reveals amazing human stories, explains the incredible science behind the wild weather events that devastated our nation this year, and discovers that there may be worse to come.
8.00pm Sports Personality of the Year 2014 BBC1 - Gary Lineker, Clare Balding and Gabby Logan present the 2014 BBC Sports Personality of the Year, live from Glasgow's Hydro Arena. This star-studded event features some of the greatest names in world sport and ends with the presentation of the famous trophy, with the winner chosen by viewers on the night.
8.00pm The X Factor Final ITV - The winner is crowned at Wembley.
Monday
8.00pm Dogs: Their Secret Lives Channel 4 - Mark Evans catches up with some of the fat, aggressive and difficult dogs featured on Dogs: Their Secret Lives earlier this year. He revisits the dogs and their owners to see how pets and people are getting on following the experts' advice from the series.
9.00pm Bette Midler: One Night Only ITV - Bette Midler stars for one night only in her first ever UK television special.
9.00pm Russell Brand: End the Drugs War BBC3 - Russell Brand challenges the point of view that the government's current 'war on drugs' policy is working. He wants to find out how other countries are tackling their problems of drug abuse and explore how the framework of criminalization implicit in the 'war on drugs' produces harm in the treatment of addicts. Russell joins the Met Police as they carry out dawn drug raids, witnesses the dangers of street addiction in Birmingham and is shocked by what he sees in a legal 'drug-consumption room' in Switzerland.
10.00pm Steph & Dom Meet Nigel Farage Channel 4 - A documentary special with the much-loved 'posh couple' from Gogglebox. The British public are regular observers of the TV viewing habits of Steph and Dom Parker at their plush B&B The Salutation, but what happens when a famous guest comes to visit? The programme follows Nigel Farage - their local MP candidate - on a wine-fuelled evening with the couple. Welcome to an entirely new style of television interview, where chaos ensues as Farage is questioned like never before.
Tuesday
8.00pm The Great British Bake Off: Christmas Masterclass BBC2 - Great British Bake Off judges Mary Berry and Paul Hollywood are getting festive in the kitchen. They have six brand new recipes to bake for the family this Christmas, inspired by rich traditions from all over Europe.
8.00pm The Supervet: Christmas in the Clinic Channel 4 - Noel treats Fieval the Labrador, who needs a total hip replacement. The programme also catches up with some of the pets who have benefited from Noel's pioneering techniques and inventions - including Scooby the Labrador cross, who lost a leg in his fight against cancer; Jasper the puppy, whose legs were so deformed he needed two pioneering operations; and Pixie the cat, who gained a bionic limb to help her survive.
9.00pm The Choir: New Military Wives BBC2 - Two-part documentary following choirmaster Gareth Malone, as he forms a special Military Wives choir to perform at a WW1 centenary prom at London's Royal Albert Hall, alongside the cast of War Horse. It's three years since Gareth formed the first Military Wives choir and since then the organisation has mushroomed with over 2,000 members around the globe. In this episode, Gareth sets out to audition as many of them as possible for his 100 strong choir. The wives usually sing pop songs, but Gareth has a repertoire of taxing classical pieces that were popular at the time of the First World War in mind.
9.00pm Black Mirror: White Christmas Channel 4 - hilling feature-length seasonal special of the critically-acclaimed drama series, starring Jon Hamm, Rafe Spall and Oona Chaplin. The most mind-bending episode yet consists of three interwoven stories brimming with near-future madness. In a mysterious and remote snowy outpost, Matt and Potter, share a Christmas meal together, swapping creepy tales of their earlier lives in the outside world. Matt is a charismatic American trying to bring the reserved, secretive Potter out of his shell. But are both men who they appear to be?
10.35pm The Apprentice: The Final Five BBC1 - Special programme profiling the remaining candidates.
Wednesday
9.00pm Hit & Run ITV - There are now over 16,000 hit-and-run collisions every year on Britain's roads resulting in serious injuries or death. For the victims and families left behind, a hit-and-run collision can herald years of anger, pain and frustration. For the police who have to pick up the pieces, bringing the guilty to justice is a test of investigative skills and resolve. This programme tells the inside story.
9.00pm The British Comedy Awards 2014 Channel 4 - The British Comedy Awards 2014 hosted by Jonathan Ross, marks the 25th year of the awards as they continue to celebrate the absolute best and brightest in British Comedy. With nominees including Matt Berry, Harry Enfield, Katherine Parkinson and Graham Norton alongside nominations for shows such as The Wrong Mans, Would I Lie To You? and Monty Python Live in this anniversary year, expect the unexpected, the unplanned and the unruly as the stars of British comedy accept their awards.
9.00pm The Fight for Saturday Night BBC4 - Michael Grade tells a tale of television skullduggery and dirty dealings in the battle to win the Saturday night ratings crown.
Thursday
8.00pm DIY SOS: The Big Build BBC1 - 15 year old Jack Morris was born with a rare form of Muscular Dystrophy leading to a lifetime of painful operations. His mother Helen has always been his rock and his elder brother Daniel his best friend. But as Jack grows into a man it has been impossible for Helen to get him upstairs and he is forced to sleep in the living room of their small three bedroomed semi in Swansea. With no other social space in the house Daniel rarely brings his mates round and they spend less time together as a family. So Nick and the boys with designer Gabrielle Blackman take on the challenge of turning the house into somewhere for Jack to grow into a man with dignity, a place to give Helen sanctuary and to reunite two amazing brothers.
8.30pm A Night of Heroes: The Sun Military Awards 2014 ITV - Phillip Schofield and Amanda Holden host the seventh annual military awards ceremony which recognises the excellence and sacrifice made by Britain's armed forces.
9.00pm Release The Hounds: Jingle Hell ITV2 - Reggie Yates presents a special festive edition of the horror game show, featuring celebrity contestants Perri, Ashley and Jordan from dance troupe Diversity.
10.35pm The Apprentice: Why I Fired Them BBC1 - Lord Sugar takes a look back at the candidates who fell before the final hurdle.
Friday
8.00pm Text Santa ITV - ITV's annual charity appeal is back to put the fun into fundraising with this three-hour show. The presenters come in pairs - Ant and Dec, Phillip Schofield and Christine Bleakley, Paddy McGuinness and Alesha Dixon - as each host a 60-minute segment. Features this year include George Clooney making a surprise visit to Downton Abbey and the stars of Coronation Street appearing in a Text Santa sketch. One unsuspecting celebrity faces a Yule Tucker Trial while serenaded by a choir of former jungle contestants. The Birds of a Feather get a Christmas visit they will never forget and there are some entertaining visitors to The Cube. The casts of Mr Selfridge and Emmerdale make an appearance along with live music, lots of surprises and much more.
