Atlantis to end after two series

The BBC have confirmed that Atlantis, the Saturday-night drama chronicling the escapades of mythological hero Jason, will end after two series.

The drama's second series began last year, but so far only six episodes have been shown. A BBC spokesperson confirmed that the drama's final seven episodes will air sometime in the spring.

The spokesperson went on to say that the series will not be recommissioned and that the BBC would like to thank all the cast and crew for their work.

Atlantis began in 2013 as a replacement for fellow fantasy drama and was written by Misfits scribe Howard Overman. Starring Jack Donnelly in the leading role as Jason, Atlantis also featured Mark Addy as an ageing Hercules and Robert Emms as maths genius Pythagoras.
