The Custard TV at Edinburgh: Charlotte Moore (BBC One Controller)

For the second year in a row The Custard TV are at the Edinburgh International Television Festival to get all the news from the channel heads.

First up we had a chance to listen to BBC One controller Charlotte Moore as she talked about the last year and what was coming up in the near future. 

Among the highlights of the conversation were:

. The announcement that Russell T Davies will be adapting A Midsummer Nights Dream 
.  More new drama will come courtesy of Tony Jordan's musical series Stop in the name of Love and 12 Years a Slave director Steve McQueen's series about the Mangrove Club.
. The revelation that Helen George will be on this year's Strictly Come Dancing.
. The announcement of two new Saturday night series; The Getaway with Dermot O'Leary and The Stig and Can't Touch This with Zoe Ball and Ashley Banjo. 
. The fact that The Generation Game with Miranda Hart might still happen however the star is currently concentrating on acting and directing.
. Charlotte seemed very confident that there would be a second series of Car Share.
.  She said that she was excited about the new Voice line-up and was glad that Tom Jones was returning to the channel for a Children in Need concert.
. She previewed David Attenborough's new series The Hunt and announced that Alexander Armstrong would be a hosting the new factual series Invisible Cities.
. Additionally Hugh Fearnley-Whittingstall will be coming to the channel to present a programme about animal poaching. 
. She also voiced her pleasure over the success of Poldark and was disappointed that Prized Apart flopped.
