Ever since it debuted Better Call Saul has established itself as very much its own show. It may feature characters that have inhabited the Breaking Bad universe but it's a different beast that walks to the beat of its own drum. Loved my audiences and critics alike, this origin story for Bob Odenkirk's Saul Goodman is just as engrossing and unmissable as its predecessor.
As you might expect though fans of the hugely popular Breaking Bad want to see Saul interacting with some of their favourites from the series, and the upcoming third season might give them just what they want.
The US network that broadcasts the series have just released a commercial for Los Pollos Hermanos, the fictional chain restaurant from Breaking Bad where the “finest ingredients are brought together with love and care, then slow cooked to perfection.”The flagship restaurant in Albuquerque is run by none other than Gustavo “Gus” Fring, who was put in contact with Walter by Saul Goodman.
There have been rumors that Fring, played by Giancarlo Esposito, would appear since the series premiered. When asked about Gus’ potential return, Bob Odenkirk said, “The writers always do clever things, there’s little clues all over the show, visual clues… I really, really truly don’t know what’s going to happen in the show, that maybe we’ll see Giancarlo Esposito back in that great role again. The Ad appears to confirm Gus's first appearance on the show and we're licking our lips with anticipation. Just don't expect Aaron Paul or Bryan Cranston to turn up anytime soon.
