Peter Kay says No to more Car Share

Enjoy tonight's fourth and final episode of Car Share as Peter Kay has said he has no plans to make any more of the hugely popular BBC One comedy.

I am absolutely delighted and overwhelmed by everybody's support and the fact that everyone's loved it so much has been wonderful for everyone who's made it, but you're better quitting while you're ahead," he told Radio Manchester presenter Becky Want.
"It's been wonderful working with Sian, who's one of my closest friends in the world. We have a good laugh but I think sometimes you've got to just leave things.
"You need good ideas - that's the problem. You need good strong stories. A lot of series tend to go on for one series too many, especially with comedies, and I think people say 'ooh, it's gone off, that'."

Kay even dismissed the idea that John and Kayleigh could return of a Christmas special! Kay's no stranger to leaving when the going's good. Phoenix Nights only ran for two series with Channel 4 only producing one series of spin-off Max and Paddy's Road to Nowhere. Of all Kay's projects it is Car Share I'll miss the most. I can't bare the thought of spending more time with John and Kayleigh as they belt out an '80s ballad from Forever FM. Make sure you relish tonight's final episode, you won't be pleased this is the end..
