Amazon to show US version of Utopia

by | Apr 19, 2018 | All, TV News

Channel 4’s drama series Utopia remains one of the most original drama series to ever grace our screens. The series, created by Dennis Kelly lasted two series before it was cruelly cut short by the broadcaster. Ever since then rumours swirled about a US remake. Initially, it looked like HBO would be the one to take it on but that fell through. Then it seemed like the project was back on, but things went quiet. Today comes the news that the US remake IS happening and you can find it on Amazon Prime Video.

Though it’s too early to talk casting we know Novelist Gillian Flynn, arguably best known for Gone Girl, has signed on to adapt the series for an American audience. “Utopia is all about exploring resonant issues within dark, twisted storytelling – it’s a series that’s urgent and current and a little ‘Holy crap!’, but a hell of a lot of a fun,” she said.

We wait with interest.

Amazon have ordered 9 episodes.
