BBC One have revealed the line-up and challenges for this year’s Comic Relief episodes of The Great British Bake-Off.
Beginning on the 11th February, sixteen big name stars will enter the tent to compete in three challenges under the watchful eye of Mary Berry and Paul Hollywood.
The first episode sees Absolutely Fabulous stars Jennifer Saunders and Joanna Lumley compete alongside Lulu and Dame Edna Everage. Their challenges include baking a giant biscuit and creating a signature chocolate cake inspired by a memorable event.
You Tube sensation Zoella will compete alongside Jonathan Ross, Gok Wan and Abbey Clancey in an episode that sees the quartet tackle cupcakes and the creation of a marble cake based on their favourite building.
Actor Michael Sheen and Radio 1’s Jameela Jamil join David Mitchell and Sarah Brown in the third instalment where they’ll try to shine with shortbread and impress with a three-layered pavlova.
Finally, the legendary Victoria Wood battles alongside Alexa Cung, Kayvan Novak and former Radio 1 DJ Chris Moyles. Their challenges will include the creation of a traybake and a “selfie vegetable cake’.
Regular Bake-Off hosts Mel and Sue will present the programme alongside An Extra Slice’s Jo Brand and former celebrity contestant Ed Byrne.
The four celebrities who’ve earned the star baker crown in each episode will then appear in a special episode of An Extra Slice airing on March 13 as part of Red Nose Day. This episode will see these four celebrities battle once more as they attempt to earn the moniker of champion of champions.
