BBC One reveal Christmas air-dates

After revealing their Christmas line-up last week; BBC One have this week revealed the air dates for the majority of their key festive programmes.

The Christmas Day line-up will kick off at 5.00pm with the Strictly Come Dancing special featuring past contestants such as Rachel Stevens and Lisa Riley. Following on at 6.15pm is the Doctor Who episode Last Christmas which sees The Doctor and Clara trapped together on an Arctic base.

The penultimate episode of Miranda will follow on at 7:15pm with the final episode airing on New Year’s Day at 8pm.

People who are yet to have their fix of Miranda Hart will be happy that Christmas Day keeps rolling at 7:50pm with a Call the Midwife special which sees Vanessa Redgrave’s on-screen debut as the older Jennifer Worth.

The annual Eastenders special will kick-off at 9pm and will primarily focus on the Carter family’s first Christmas at the Queen Vic.

The evening will conclude with a double as Mrs Brown’s Boys will airs at 10:05pm whilst Michael McIntyre’s Very Christmasy Christmas Show will round off the evening at 10:40pm.

 Christmas Eve plays host to Harry Hill as Professor Branestawm at 8:30pm while Lee Mack’s Not Going Out Christmas Special will air directly afterwards at 9:25pm

David Walliams’ Boy in a Dress is set to air on Boxing Day at 6:55pm and the channel’s other big family special; Roald Dahl’s Esio Trot, joins Miranda on New Year’s Day at 6:30pm.

Finally, Steve Pemberton’s adaptation of  Mapp and Lucia will air over three nights from 29th-31st December at 9pm.
