It has been revealed that BBC Two has ordered a second series of Inside No. 9 before the first series has even aired.

Inside No. 9 is a dark comedy series written and created by League of Gentlemen and Psychoville duo Steve Pemberton and Reece Shearsmith.

Shearsmith publicly made an announcement via his Twitter feed as he posted, “Did I mention we already have a second series of Inside No. 9? I don’t think I did. Oh – well, we do. Something to do innit.”

Inside No. 9 is an anthology series with each episode featuring a new set of characters and a different story every week. The link between each instalment is the fact that they are set inside a property or room numbered 9.

The first series of Inside No. 9 will begin airing on Wednesday 5th February at 10pm.

The second series is expected to start filming in the autumn for a broadcast date some time in 2015.
