Perhaps the most pleasant surprises are that Fargo’s main cast were all nominated in their respective categories and I was very surprised to see the BBC’s The Missing nominated considering it has only just started airing state side and doesn’t seem to be attracting the same attention we’ve lavished upon it here. It’s nice to see fellow Brits Dominic West and Ruth Wilson recognised for their roles in Showtime’s thriller The Affair which has still yet to find a UK broadcaster. Ricky Gervais has also picked up a nomination for his role in Derek which is only available to American viewers via Netflix and other online only shows like Transparent and Orange is the New Black also get nominations.
The ceremony will take place in January and will see Tina Fey and Amy Poehler return to host for a third time.
