Channel 4 have released the first image of their drama Coaltion; which tells the story of the 2010 General Election.

Babylon’s Bertie Carvel will star as Lib Dem leader Nick Clegg who went on an astonishing rise from rank outsider to the man who would decide the fate of the country.

In the newly-released image, Carvel is pictured alongside The Bletchley Circle’s Mark Dexter as David Cameron and Ian Grieve as Gordon Brown; a role he previously portrayed in the stage play The Confessions of Gordon Brown.

The one-off ninety minute drama is written by James Graham; the acclaimed playwright behind hit political productions Privacy and Tory Boyz meanwhile BAFTA-winning Alex Holmes has signed on to direct.

Coalition is set to air later in 2015.
