Fox have released a video of David Tennant discussing Broadchurch remake Gracepoint in greater depth. Tennant, who is reprising his role from the original ITV series praises the Canadian location that is transformed into the fictional community of Gracepoint for the 10-part series. “Gracepoint the place is very much a character in the piece. It’s the story of a small town as well as a murder investigation,” he says, to a backdrop of eerily calm grey waters and a solitary swing rocking slowly in a children’s playground at dusk in the small town of Oak Bay in Victoria, B.C., Canada, which is being transformed into Gracepoint.”

An article on the Radio Times Website appears to suggest that an ITV channel will show the US remake at some point in the autumn.

David Tennant stars, but sees his character Alec Hardy renamed as Emmett Carver. Breaking Bad’sAnna Gunn takes the role that has seen Olivia Colman  win. acclaim and praise. Other notable cast members include Nick Nolte. Nolte will star as Jack Reinhold, the owner of a kayak rental business and the local wildlife observation programme, at which murder victim Danny Latimer volunteered. David Bradley played the version of the character in the original UK version of the show.

Original writer Chris Chibnall has said in the interviews that the remake reminds true to the original in places but was cagey when asked if the US series would have the same ending as the hit ITV drama.
