Channel 4 have released the first proper glimpse of Educating The East End from the makers of the hugely successful Educating Yorkshire.
Filmed at Frederick Bremer School in Walthamstow, this brand new eight-part series captures every detail of life in the school from playground hijinks and inspirational lessons to life-changing friendships and events. Educating the East End follows the work of Head Teacher Jenny Smith, as she brings her vision and drive to lift the academic achievements at the school as well as the ambition of her students. Assisted by a stellar team of teachers and support staff, Jenny is on a mission to inspire the kids to aim higher, achieve their full potential, and overcome the stereotype of a hoodied London teen.
From Year 7 to Year 11, from newly qualified teachers to old-hands, this observational documentary series shows what it is like to learn and teach in a hugely diverse school in the capital city. Located in the suburbs of East London, Educating the East End is told with heart, honesty and humour and celebrates the universally-
identifiable themes of adolescence and those pivotal pupil-teacher relationships that shape everyone’s teenage years.
