ITV set date for ‘Downton Abbey’ Return

Downton Abbey looks set to return to ITV on Sunday 22nd September for its highly anticipated fourth series.

We already know American actor Paul Giamatti will join the cast this year. Giamatti will play Cora’s maverick, playboy brother Harold in the Christmas episode. He will be starring alongside Shirley MacLaine and the regular cast members for the dramatic climax to Series 4. And that Death in Paradise star Gary Carr has also been signed up. Carr will play a jazz singer called Jack Ross, a charming and charismatic young man. He joins new cast members Dame Kiri Te Kanawa, Tom Cullen, Julian Ovenden, Nigel Harman, Joanna David and Dame Harriet Walter who are all set to star in the fourth series.

The series consists of 8 episodes and a Christmas Special. The 90min opener looks set for 9pm on Sunday 22nd September on on ITV.
