The BBC have announced that Britain’s Got Talent runner-up Jack Carroll will star in the new series of David Walliams’ Big School.

The young comedian is going to play Dean, a new arrival to Greybridge School. Walliams, who’ll return as Head of Chemistry Mr Church, voiced his delight over working with Jack who he first met in his role as a judge on Britain’s Got Talent.

Carroll is one of a number of new cast members joining the sitcom for its second series. Rev’s Jimmy Akingbola will star as sexy new teacher Dr Dalton whilst Morgana Robinson will play best-selling children’s author Fenella Forbes. Sylvester Le Touzel will play no-nonsense OFSTED Inspector Mrs Steele and Michelle Dotrice will play the long-suffering mother of P.E. Teacher Mr Gunn.

Returning cast members include Catherine Tate as French teacher Miss Postern and Philip Glenister as Mr Gunn. Frances De La Tour, Daniel Rigby, Steve Spiers and Joanna Scanlan will also return to the staff room in the next series.

Big School will return later in the year.
