NEWS: The BBC confirm start date for ‘War of the Worlds.’

The BBC has finally confirmed when the new adaptation of War of Worlds will be arriving on our screens.

Set in Edwardian England, this new adaptation of H.G. Wells’ seminal tale follows George (Rafe Spall and his partner Amy (Eleanor Tomlinson) as they attempt to defy society and start a life together. Rupert Graves will play Frederick, George’s elder brother, with Robert Carlyle as Ogilvy, an astronomer and scientist. ‘The War of the Worlds’ tells their story as they face the escalating terror of an alien invasion, fighting for their lives against an enemy beyond their comprehension.

The story begins when a mysterious capsule lands in 1905, Woking, Surrey, and lovers George and Amy join the curious crowd to examine it. As events unfold, the couple are caught in the middle of a Martian invasion of Earth, fighting for their love and their lives against an enemy beyond their comprehension.

The series will start at 9.00pm on Sunday 17th November on BBC One.
