The Custard's 'coming up' guide has been my most useful guide for keeping up-to-date with interesting TV currently in development/filming. But an alphabetical list mixing old and new entries makes it difficult to find the latest updates.

If it must be in alphabetical order rather than by date, could new entries be highlighted in some way? Just having 'NEW' in red next to the latest updates would do the trick.

'Fuse' is from the writer of 'Conviction' so automatically earns a place on my must-see list. But it's about a guy who wakes up after a night of drinking to find he may have been responsible for a murder? We've seen that before - the first series of 'Criminal Justice' for one. I bet he didn't do it, you know.

It would be helpful also if an approximate date for transmission could be shown

This list is useless unless it has the most recent commissions at the top.

Yay for new announcements for being at the top! And in red! This is my main source for TV news and this makes it easier to see the latest news. Such a great one-stop-shop.

"Morton" has been renamed "Hunted" and is set to premier on Oct 4th 2012.

I think this is right?

Undisclosed has aired as Hidden

Where's Heading Out? :)

Disappointed to see the list return to alphabetical-only format since it makes it harder to keep up-to-date with new shows. Latest updates should either be at the top or in red to make them stand out.

'Wars of the Roses' is now called 'The White Queen'

How doees Mr Selfridge come between Splash and Starlings? If the list is alphabetical whi h alphabet are you using?

What's happened to updating this section?

Good to see the Coming Soon section updated. Some interesting stuff there.

Third series of Top Boy! Yes! I hope for a longer run this time

It would be really nifty if this was formatted like the Hollywood Reporter does their premiers. I'd think it is preferable by date rather than alphabetically.

Channel 4 has green-lit an original drama series Indian Summers about the final years of British colonial rule in India.
Thank you your very useful work

I don't know how often this list is updated, but it would be useful if it was only updated once a week on the same day. The entries in red would then summarise the new series announced over the past week.

The announcements of new shows could still be made immediately and in more depth on your News pages. But this list would work best for the casual reader if it was updated once a week. (More often than that and a reader visiting once a week could miss details of a new show if they were looking for text in red).

I like the focus on British shows in this list. Most similar lists of new & returning shows are overwhelmed by American shows, even if they include British ones too.

I consider myself fortunate that I stumbled across this site when another website decided to shut down. All I can say is that I wish the other site had closed sooner!!! The British shows are my favorite and this helps me hunt them down.

any news about a possible show called Kingfields which is the 3rd in the trilogy after Marchlands and Lightfields ?

The BROKEN drama coming to BBC with Sean Bean is about a Sheffield priest presiding over a parish which 'could' be Liverpool. The character is not 'Liverpudlian' as stated in the write-up.

Hinterland and Versailles are missing!

I find this really useful it ia a great service ...thanks!

I think it would be useful to split the list into two parts - one part for brand new shows and another part for returning shows.

Personally, I'm far more interested in information about brand new shows.

I think I read in the Radio Times that The Cloud was no longer going ahead.

Also, Shamed was broadcast last year.

A Discovery of Witches Sky One - Based on Deborah Harkness' book of the same name, Teresa Palmer stars as historian and secret vampire Diana Bishop who is thrown together with Matthew Goode's vampire geneticist Matthew Clairmont in pursuit of the truth of a mysterious manuscript.

She is a witch, not a vampire!!!!!!!!!

The ITV drama "Innocent" has been going on since August 2016!

Now been shown in the Netherlands and New Zealand (as of Feb 2018)

Not sure how it has taken so long in production and it may even celebrate its 2 year anniversary later this year...but still not been shown in the UK...

Anonymous said...

This is such a helpful list. Thank you very much for making it and keeping it up to date. I'm also puzzled why it is that 'Innocent' is taking so long to get to British screens. It's very odd, especially since it's already been shown elsewhere.

I was wondering if it might be possible to include start dates when they are known? e.g. Doctor Who would be Sunday October 7th 2018. Then, since this is a 'coming soon' list, each show would be removed after the start date.

So the current series of Upstart Crow and Vanity Fair should probably be removed as they are no longer coming soon.

'The Wilsons' is now called 'Mrs Wilson'. The title needs to be updated in your list, please.
