The fourth series has been confirmed to start on Wednesday 13th November on BBC Two also sees
the addition of Academy Award winner Adrien Brody to cast.
When he receives a mysterious letter on Christmas Eve, Thomas Shelby realises that the Peaky Blinders are in danger of annihilation. As the enemy closes in, Shelby flees his country house and returns to the streets of Small Heath, Birmingham, where a desperate fight for survival begins.
Creator Steven Knight says: “It’s fantastic to have Adrien join our team. He genuinely was the actor in my head when I wrote the part. I’m sure he will be a formidable presence in the world of the Peaky Blinders.”
Tom Hardy is also confirmed to be returning as ruthless Jewish gang leader Alfie Solomons, alongside series regulars Natasha O’Keefe, Helen McCrory, Paul Anderson, Joe Cole, Sophie Rundle, Finn Cole, Aimee-Ffion Edwards and Kate Phillips.
The first episode of the fourth series picks up from the end of the third series which saw Tommy have all of his family arrested. When we meet him again he’s estranged from the Shelby clan, but when he receives a letter he worries the family might be destroyed.
