Sky Atlantic have announced that they’ve recommissioned Lennie James‘ drama series Save Me for a second series.
Currently airing on Wednesday nights on the channel, all six episodes of the drama created and starring James have been available on Sky’s on-demand services since the first instalment aired. The six-parter has gone on to become the most rapidly-binged show in the broadcaster’s history with 700,000 people watching the series within its first week. Sky have also revealed that the first episode has been consumed by a cumulative audience of 1.73 million viewers.
The news of the second series came via a video from James on Sky Atlantic’s Twitter feed in which he thanked fans of the show for their support and contributed the recommissioning of the show to their dedication.
The second series is going into production with James set to reprise his role as loveable loser Nelly Rowe alongside Suranne Jones as his former lover Claire.
