Sharon Horgan’s first series for Apple TV+, an adaptation of the Belgian version of Clan, will be titled Bad Sisters. Horgan will co-write and co-exec and star in the ten-part darkly comic series. Also confirmed are Anne-Marie Duff (Shameless, The Sailsbury Poisonings), Eva Birthistle (Brooklyn), Sarah Greene (The Dublin Murders, Frank of Ireland) and Eve Hewson (The Knick, Behind her Eyes) as Horgan’s co-leads and released a first-look image of the quintet as the title characters.
Described as a blend of dark comedy and thriller, Bad Sisters follows the lives of the Garvey sisters — played by Horgan, Duff, Birthistle, Greene and Hewson — who are bound together by the premature death of their parents and a promise to always protect one another.
The ensemble cast also includes Claes Bang (Dracula), Brian Gleeson (Peaky Blinders), Daryl McCormack (Peaky Blinders), Assaad Bouab (Call My Agent) and newcomer Saise Quinn (Monster).
The series is expected later this year on Apple TV+
