It seems almost impossible that Severance creator Dan Erikson could live up to last season’s dramatic cliffhanger finale, and the standard set by the ground-breaking, outstanding episodes that have made up the bulk of this second season. Yet somehow, they have, and as...
Even if I hadn't rewatched the first season of Severance in preparation for this second, it is truly astonishing how memorable and effective Season 1's finale was. The innies infiltrating the lives of their outies was properly exhilarating. Ever since, it doesn't feel...
For two weeks now, Severance has shifted its focus away from the central MDR group and onto the backstories of characters we've only known in the prism of the severance procedure. Harmony Cobel, (Patricia Arquette), the fearsome presence that loomed over the MDR group...
I rewatched the first season to prepare for the second, and it was striking how much of it had been imprinted into my memory, given the nearly three years that had passed. There were only a handful of threads I'd forgotten about. Strangely, those are the ones I've...
Following on from last week, the tempo of Severance is beginning to heighten once more as the unity between the MDR groups fractures and splinters. Dylan (Zach Cherry) notifies his colleagues of the map to the export hall that Irving left behind for them, yet nobody...
This week on Severance, we take a step back. The second season so far has dealt with tense situations and slowly built up, all leading to last week's explosive episode, in which we saw the death of Irving B (John Turtorro). This episode focuses more on expanding on...
Yes, Do It SETH! Who is Irving B? Irving B is a stickler for the rules, who loves to make lame jokes and harbours a deep affection for his friend. He is a deeply religious man, grieving the recent loss of a loved one. He is battling with the ongoing disillusionment of...
Last week’s episode of Severance saw us explore the outie’s perspective of what happened post OTC activation, and this week we get an episode that mostly deals with the hunt for Gemma. The first half is centred around the Innies as they search the severed...
“Did it involve a pineapple?” Mrs Selvig or Cobel (Patricia Arquette) - or Cobelvig, as Ricken dubs her - asks Mark (Adam Scott), when he confronts her about her role in his life. Cobel is unruffled and unimpressed, simply acknowledging that it appears Mark has...
Dawn and Sarah join Matt to review four new shows and break down their thoughts on the latest episodes of The Traitors. First, after a 3-year absence, Severance is finally back on Apple TV+ Easily one of the most anticipated shows of the year, the trio get lost in the...
Why are you a child? Because of when I was born When Mark S (Adam Scott) wakes up in the elevator on the 'severed floor' he's immediately disoriented and full of the shock of seeing his life on the outside of Lumon. Discovering for example, that his boss,...
Almost 3 years ago, the first season of Apple TV’s Severance, a sci-fi thriller about a procedure that separates your work memories from your personal ones was released to critical and fan acclaim. Now, with the second season on the horizon, we thought it appropriate...
The first season of Severance ended on a cliffhanger, which will likely be resolved sometime during show’s second installment. But the Apple TV+ series still has many more questions to pose, from the looks of a trailer released Saturday at the CCXP24 convention in São...
In an age where new series come and go in the blink of an eye, it's worth remembering that some of the best series are close-ended. The mini or 'limited' series which asks very little of you in terms of commitment but deliver a concise and satisfying story. I've put...
When it came time to compile our Best of the Year piece two things struck me. The first was that wasn't one BIG show that resonated with people in the same way Normal People and I May Destroy You did in 2020 or It's a Sin and Mare of Easttown last year. The second was...
