by | Aug 29, 2015 | All, TV News

Our third controller session saw us sit down and listen to a chat with Kim Shillinglaw the controller of BBC Two as she talked about the past year and previewed some of the shows that the channel has coming up.

Here are a few of the potted highlights:

. She previewed a new documentary series that BBC Two is showing soon in which they were granted unprecedented access to The White House.

. She voiced her regret about the whole Jeremy Clarkson incident but commented that no other organisation would’ve found his behaviour acceptable.

. At the same time she said that she was excited about the new look Top Gear as she could think of very few people as perfect for the role as Chris Evans.

. Whilst on Top Gear she said that the new show, and in particular the presenter line-up, would look very different.

. She commented on the channel’s commitment to showcasing comedy which is evidenced by their scheduling of Cradle to Grave and Boy Meets Girl in the 9 and 9:30pm slots rather than in the traditional 10pm position.

. She showcased the channel’s diversity by playing clips of some of their most successful shows of the past year including The Detectives and Let’s Play Darts for Comic Relief.

. She also aired preview clips of the BBC Two shows she’s most excited by including Stag, London Spy and Gareth Malone’s latest series The Naked Choir.
