The Great British Sewing Bee to return

by | Apr 24, 2013 | All

Following last night’s final, watched by 2.7m viewers (12% share), the channel has confirmed that Great British Sewing Bee will be returning for a new 6×60-minute series next year.

Claudia Winkleman presented the series which saw eight hopefuls tested on their sewing and dressmaking skills and concluded last night with 81-year-old Ann crowned Britain’s best amateur sewer.

Janice Hadlow, Controller, BBC Two, said: “I‘m delighted that BBC Two viewers have taken this series to their hearts. It has proved that an ill-fitting zip or badly placed dart can make for compelling television in much the same way as a soggy bottom on Great British Bake Off and I can’t wait for the next series.”

The Great British Sewing Bee will return in 2014 to BBC2.
