9.00pm Britain’s Benefit Tenants Channel 4 – Return of the series following specialist letting agents trying to keep both private landlords and tenants happy. As council housing shrinks, Britain’s two million private landlords have been buying up houses. More of their tenants than ever before are on benefits and as austerity and changes to the benefits system bite, many are falling into arrears. Letting agencies specialising in housing benefits now find themselves on the front line. In the North East, ex-pub landlord Rob McKenzie has found his own way of dealing with tenants who abandon properties leaving behind a trail of destruction and owing thousands of pounds in rent. Young agent Caroline is new to the job and finds herself drawn into tensions on a street in Hartlepool, where one of her tenants is causing problems for the neighbours.
8.00pm The Supervet: Bionic Specials Channel 4 – Professor Noel Fitzpatrick returns for a new series which delves deeper into the science behind his cutting-edge procedures and reveals how he pushes the boundaries of veterinary medicine. In this episode, he harnesses two extraordinary technologies; 3D Printing and 3D milling. Nine-year-old Cavalier King Charles spaniel Molly is brought in by Tania with a large bump on her head. When scans reveal a potentially fatal tumour in her skull that is growing rapidly, Noel tries something he has never attempted before; using state-of-the-art technology to design a custom-made 3D milled implant to replace the part of her skull affected by the bone cancer. Noel has to perform delicate surgery, cutting through Molly’s skull to remove the tumour which is next to the brain and replace the missing piece with a custom-fitted titanium mesh. And Jane brings in her four-year-old Norfolk terrier Archie who is suffering with a bad limp. Noel regularly treats elbow deformities but Archie’s is the most extreme case he has ever attempted with an elbow replacement.
