9.10pm Who Wants to Be a Millionaire? ITV – The quiz show hosted by Jeremy Clarkson returns for a week-long run.


9.00pm Peaky Blinders BBC1 – The big BBC drama returns for a fifth series on its brand new home on BBC One. The Wall Street Crash brings the Shelby family back together when the implications for the family business become clear. Meanwhile, Tommy’s political career is going from strength to strength, but its is not long before ghosts from his past threaten to undermine his position. Return of the period drama, starring Cillian Murphy and Helen McCrory. Continues Tomorrow at 9.00pm

9.00pm A Black and White Killing: The Case that Shook America BBC2 – Mobeen Azhar investigates the murder of Larnell Bruce by a member of a white supremacist gang in Portland, and assesses the degree to which race played a role in the choice of victim. The investigation delves into the history of the seemingly liberal city, and uncovers a dark underbelly of racial tensions in the state of Oregon. The programme also examines the events of the trial, which were marked by clashes between anti-fascist groups and white supremacists on the streets. Featuring interviews with members of the militant groups and expert witnesses called on to testify. Concludes Tomorrow at 9.00pm

9.00pm Sandition ITV – Brand new six-part period drama. A chance accident brings Charlotte Heywood to Sanditon, a seaside resort on the cusp of dramatic change. Spirited and unconventional, Charlotte is initially keen to experience everything the town has to offer, but is then shocked by its scheming and ambitious inhabitants, and intrigued by the secrets they share. Drama adapted from the unfinished novel by Jane Austen, starring Rose Williams, Theo James, Anne Reid, Kris Marshall and Kate Ashfield.

8.00pm Nadiay’s Summer Feasts BBC2 – Nadiya Hussain prepares an array of mouth-watering dishes that she will serve up to her loved ones at her own summer party feast, including a barbecued butterflied leg of lamb with sticky rhubarb glaze.

8.00pm Dad’s Army: The Lost Episodes GOLD – A brand new cast perform the scripts to lost Dad’s Army episodes

8.00pm Britain’s Extreme Weather: Superstorms and Heatwaves Channel 4 – Morland Sanders looks at climate change and its link to severe weather events in the UK, which has seem tornadoes, torrential rain, lightning storms, flash floods and a record-breaking temperature of 38.7C in recent months.

9.00pm Inside Aldi: Britain’s Budget Supermarket Five

9.00pm Midsomer Murders ITV – Brand new episode of the gentle crime drama.

8.00pm Love Your Garden ITV – Ninth series of the garden makeover series fronted by Alan Titchmarsh

8.00pm The Great British Bake Off Channel 4 – Noel Fielding, Sandi Toksvig and judges Prue Leith and Paul Hollywood return with the culinary competition, which this year features the added pressure of a 13th contestant. The series gets underway with cake week – during which two of the bakers will be sent home. The first stage of the challenge features a fruit cake, while the technical is a retro classic that requires intricate decoration. Finally, for the showstopper, the contestants must create the birthday cake they wish they had received as a child.

8.00pm The Yorkshire Vet Five – Ninth series of the documentary series following the work of the rural vet.

9.00pm The Affair Sky Atlantic – Fifth and final series of the US drama series starring Maura Tierney and Dominic West. As Helen mourns a tragedy, Sierra welcomes a new arrival. Meanwhile, work begins on Noah’s movie adaptation, and Joanie struggles with an upcoming birthday.

9.30pm Sink or Swim for SU2C Channel 4 – A team of celebrities train for a cross-channel relay swim in support of Stand Up To Cancer, under the coaching of Olympic swimmer Keri-anne Payne and adventurer Ross Edgley. The team consists of athletes Linford Christie, Tessa Sanderson and Greg Rutherford, Coronation Street’s Sair Khan, The Last Leg’s Alex Brooker, TOWIE’s James Argent and Georgia Kousoulou, Blue singer Simon Webbe, Love Island’s Wes Nelson, Hollyoaks actress Rachel Adedeji, and presenter Diane Louise Jordan.

9.00pm Kevin’s Grandest Design Channel 4 – To celebrate 20 years of Grand Designs, Kevin McCloud’s reveals his top five properties from the show, revisiting the buildings and people who have most inspired him over the years. From concrete-vaulted glass-fronted pavilions and heroic restoration projects to handcrafted hobbit houses made of hedgerow, Kevin reflects on what it takes to build a truly great Grand Designs project.


9.00pm China: A New World Order BBC2 – Six years ago, a man largely unknown in the West was given one of the most important jobs in the world. China’s new President, Xi Jinping, became the leader of a rising superpower, commander of a formidable military and the head of an economy that is crucial to people’s lives around the world. This documentary tells the story of his controversial six-year rule, and how he set about transforming China into a tightly controlled state where loyalty to the Communist Party appears to be valued above everything else.


8.00pm The Great British Bake Off: Extra Slice Channel 4 – Jo Brand invites Bake Off fans Frank Skinner, Stephen Mangan and Scarlett Moffatt to reveal what they think about this year’s line-up of bakers and their debut bakes in cake week.

10.00pm The Rob Rinder Verdict Channel 4 – Topical comedy in which the host applies his extensive knowhow to take a swipe at the news in his own inimitable way. Each episode features famous faces and high-profile politicians as they are put under the spotlight by Judge Rinder in the most unlikely of scenarios.
