9.00pm The Old People’s Home for 4-Year-Olds Channel 4 – A three-month experiment is about to start at one of the largest retirement villages in the UK – Lark Hill, on the outskirts of Nottingham – in a specially built nursery where the classmates’ ages range from just three to 102. Inspired by the show’s previous experiment in Bristol, the pensioners this time are much older and the nursery runs for twice as long, stretching the older group’s stamina with excursions, dancing and a daily timetable of nursery activities. Is an experiment of this length sustainable and can significant results inspire long-term solutions in older care? Led by a team of geriatric specialists measuring the impact of pre-schoolers on the mood, memory and mobility of the older group, the team also features a child development specialist – as for the first time in the UK, the children are also assessed to see what happens to their emotional and social development, and language skills, if their classmates are almost a century older.

As Josh has grown, Mum and son are becoming increasingly confined to the house. Benita volunteers as a health worker at his school so Alan is determined to help this selfless woman and her son.
9.00pm A Dangerous Dynasty: House of Assad BBC2 – Three-part series delving into the story of the Assad dynasty. Right at the centre of it are President Bashar and his wife Asma, who met and fell in love in London. Over a decade ago, they were being welcomed with open arms in Britain. Today, they are entrenched in a brutal war that has led to some of the most horrifying crimes of modern times. Episode one follows Bashar and Asma’s journey to become president and first lady of Syria against the backdrop of a troubled and suspicious family.

This show features incredible footage – often filmed by cops themselves – of what they deal with on the frontline. With an officer reporting being assaulted on average every 18 minutes, and more and more incidents being caught on camera, we meet the policemen and women putting themselves in danger to protect the public.

10.00pm The Bisexual Channel 4 – Maxine Peake stars in this comedy/drama series that explores the difference between dating men and women, from the perspective of a person who, for the first time, finds herself doing both. New Yorker Leila lives in London in a seemingly perfect relationship with girlfriend and business partner Sadie. But Leila has a secret – she’s bisexual. Realising that she’s living a lie, Leila makes a drastic decision with unexpected consequences.
9.00pm Gordon.Gino & Fred’s Roadtrip: The Italian Job ITV – Gordon Ramsay, Gino D’Acampo and Fred Sirieix join forces once more as they explore each other’s home countries and help put on an event of personal significance. The series kicks off with Gino at the helm and, unfortunately for the other two, the wheel, as he introduces them to the way of life of his hometown of Naples and the food of the region of Campania.
