Top Of The Pops Christmas Party, BBC1

by | Dec 25, 2004 | All, Reviews

Highlights

1 Kylie’s medley of her cheesiest old hits. It was like a night at G-A-Y compressed into five fab minutes

2 The stomping performance by Frank Ferdinand – the only guitar band to be represented

3 Britney Spears’ Toxic – she beat Destiny’s Child hands down when it came to being sultry and having her hair messed about by a wind machine

4 Anastacia’s Left Outside Alone, the best vocal performance of the year

5 Eamon and Frankie’s F**k U mix.

6 Reggie and Fearn’s jolly presentation. Tonight, thank God, it’s them instead of Tim Kash.

7 Girls Aloud weren’t on

Lowlights

1 Michelle McManus in a green sack. We’d almost managed to exorcise her from our memories. “A quite amazing performance,” said Reggie Yates which made us laugh more than anything on The Vicar Of Dibley.

2 The awful Band Aid 20 vid

3 Babycakes, Lola’s Theme and Call On Me: we danced like mad to them during the summer; now we couldn’t care less if we never hear them again

4 The lack of close-ups of Dougie as McFly performed Obviously

5 Robbie Williams’ Radio. His worst ever single
