5.15pm Comic Relief Does Glee Club BBC1 – Hosts Sam and Mark are joined by a panel of experts as glee clubs from across the country display their talents and compete for the public vote with a series of entertainment performances. Joining the proceedings each day is a mystery judge, and there is also a special celebrity musical performance. But who will be crowned the 2011 Comic Relief Glee Club winners?

7.30pm Bang Goes the Theroy BBC1 – Liz follows two couples undertaking IVF, and looks at the new research that may dramatically increase success rates. Jem attempts to become the first man to go 360 degrees on a playground swing. And Dr Yan confuses shoppers with the help of a very special mirror.

8.30pm Only Connect Comic Relief Special BBC4 – Victoria Coren hosts a special edition of the show as six celebrity brains try to deduce the hidden connections between things which, on the face of it, seem not to be connected at all.

9.00pm The Secret War on Terrror BBC2 – Documentary revealing the inside story of the intelligence war which has been fought against Al Qaeda since 9/11. With unparalleled access to Western intelligence and law enforcement agencies, and with a host of exclusive interviews with those who have been at the sharp end of fighting the terrorists – from the CIA and the FBI to MI5 – Peter Taylor asks whether there is any end in sight and whether we are any safer from attack.

9.00pm Around the World in 60 Minuets BBC4 – A unique journey around the weird and wonderful planet that we call home. What would you see during just one orbit of the Earth? Starting 200 miles above the planet, this film whisks you around the planet to show what changes in the time it takes to circumnavigate the Earth just once. We hear from British-born astronaut Piers Sellers on what it’s like to live and work in space, and also to gaze down and see how we are altering and reshaping our world.

10.00pm Twenty Twelve BBC4 – Comedy series from the minds behind People Like Us  following the personal and professional challenges faced by those responsible for delivering the biggest show on earth, as the Olympic Deliverance team try to get through to the end of the day, the end of the week and the end of the year without all the wheels falling off at once. With time ticking inexorably downwards, the marketing team come up with a major public event to mark the ‘1000 days to go’ milestone. Starring Hugh Bonneville & Jessica Hynes.

10.30pm 24hr Panel People BBC3 – David Walliams brings his love of tough endurance challenges to his day job when he takes on the role of anchoring the UK’s first ever 24-hour panel show for Red Nose Day. In this five part series, BBC Three presents the highlights from this epic comedy event, following David as he switches between the roles of host, team captain and panellist, along with some other surprising challenges. The marathon 24-hour challenge celebrates some of the most famous and best loved panel shows from TV and radio. Continues all week.


9.00pm Bibe’s Buried Secrets BBC2 – Dr Francesca Stavrakopoulou goes on the trail of the Biblical King David and his fabled empire.

10.00pm Lily Allen: From Riches to Rags Channel 4 – 3-part documentary series that follows singer Lily Allen and her sister Sarah as they set up a fashion buisness in London.


7.00pm Pop’s Greatest Dance Crazes BBC3 – Robert Webb hosts a top fifty countdown of the hippest, sexiest, quirkiest and campest dance crazes of the last forty years.

8.00pm Time Team Special Channel 4 – Tony and the co investigate The Battle of Bosworth

9.00pm Leaving Amish Paradise BBC2 – Documentary following the lives of two Amish families leaving the only world they’ve ever known and trying to get to grips with the modern world.

9.00pm The Secret World of Whitehall BBC4 – Three-part series by Michael Cockerell starts with the role played over the years by the most powerful unelected member of the government, the Cabinet Secretary. He is the real life Sir Humphrey from Yes Prime Minister, who rules the civil service from Whitehall’s least understood ministry.

10.00pm Kidult: Marathon Boy BBC4 – Documentary telling the story of the youngest marathon runner ever. At the age of four he is plucked from the poverty of an Indian slum by his coach, and extraordinary drama and tragedy ensue.


9.00pm The Big Red Nose Desert Trek BBC1 – Celebrities such as Dermot O’Leary, Loraine Kelly, Radio 1’s Scott Mills, Kara Tointon and Craig David embark on a 100km trek across a desert in Northern Kenya for Comic Relief.

9.00pm The End of the World: A Horizon Guide to Armageddon BBC4 – Dallas Campbell delves into the Horizon archive to discover how scientists have tried to predict an impending apocalypse – from natural disaster to killer disease to asteroid impact – and to ask: when Armageddon arrives, will science be able to save us?


7.00pm Comic Relief 2011 BBC1 – Celebrities from the world of entertainment join forces as the 2011 charity fundraising event begins, with presenters Michael McIntyre, Claudia Winkleman, Graham Norton, Davina McCall and Dermot O’Leary. There are special instalments of Doctor Who, Outnumbered and EastEnders, while Claudia Winkleman, Ruby Wax and Miranda Hart go head-to-head for Comic Relief Does MasterChef. Joanna Lumley and Jennifer Saunders star in a Downton Abbey spoof, James Corden reprises the role of Smithy in a new sketch, and Harry Hill is joined by some very special friends.
