8.00pm A House Through Time BBC2 – David Olusoga traces the history of an 18th-century sea captain’s house near Bristol’s docks with links to the slave trade

8.00pm Bake Off: The Professionals Channel 4 – Liam Charles and Tom Allen present 12 professional duos with two challenges. For the first round, they must produce two different types of miniature classics – strawberry tarts and fruit salad. For the second challenge, they must reinvent pineapple upside-down cake and transform it into an incredible fine-dining experience, complete with towering edible showpiece sculptures.

9.00pm Britain’s Unsung Heroes Channel 4 – Celebrating the stories of vital key workers, from teachers and cleaners to bus drivers and supermarket workers, who are keeping Britain going through the coronavirus crisis. The programme offers a powerful picture of Britain today as it follows a few such people as they do their jobs, often putting themselves at risk for the sake of others on a daily basis.

8.05pm Tackling Mental Health BBC1 – Documentary following the Duke of Cambridge’s work to break the taboo surrounding mental health, using football as a way to encourage men to open up and talk about their emotions. The documentary follows the Duke as he meets players and fans from grassroots to the elite of the game, and openly discusses their mental health challenges. Former England goalkeeper Joe Hart talks about how he has learnt to cope with difficulties at the very top of the game, and William hears from a group of bereaved fathers who use their local football team as a support network and safe space to talk. Former Premier League footballer Marvin Sordell opens up about his struggles with depression, while Chelsea manager Frank Lampard compares life now with his early experiences of professional football.

8.05pm Britain’s Best Parent Channel 4 – Twelve families with differing parenting styles compete against each other, hoping to prove that their methods and techniques are the right way to raise children. Those taking part in the first episode include Joana, who believes children shouldn’t be confined to traditional gender stereotypes and is raising her five-year-old with a gender-fluid approach. Self-titled lazy parents Kevin and Kerry believe that their hands-off style makes their two boys self-sufficient and aware of the consequences of their actions, while Rin and Robin’s parenting style is inspired by Eastern culture and philosophy, as they aspire to make `scholar-warriors” of their son and daughter. Presented by Anita Rani.

9.30pm The First Team BBC2 – Comedy written by Iain Morris and Damon Beesley – creators of The Inbetweeners – following the adventures of three young footballers, their Italian manager and eccentric chairman. New signing Mattie Sullivan arrives at the club, but a meeting with chairman Mark Crane leads him to wonder if he’s been signed by mistake. As if that wasn’t bad enough, club hard-man Petey Brooks takes a dislike to him and legendary Italian manager Cesare is nowhere to be found. Starring Shaquille Ali-Yebuah, Will Arnett, Jack McMullen, Jake Short and Theo Barklem-Biggs.
